	Timothy Pickering (1745-1829) was a renowned soldier, prominent in the Revolutionary days of Salem. 	He participated in numerous battles of the Revolution and was adjutant general of the staff of General Washington for a time. 	In 2003 a full-scale replica of the original Fame was built and now docks at Pickering Wharf, sailing out of Salem harbor for sightseeing and educational trips.
