<p><b>New page</b></p><div>Locke Regulator Company was a manufacturer of Steam Vehicle parts and fittings as well as copper or steel boilers in Salem. <br />
The company entered the automobile manufacturing field early in the century. In 1902, Locke built a <br />
four passenger steam runabout (early automobile) that they named "Puritan". The speed could reach 20 mpg and the engine was rated at 6 horse power.<br />
