			*In 2026, the North Shore Community Development Coalition in partnership with the city, the Archdiocese of Boston, MassHousing, Mass Cultural Council, the Punto Urban Art Museum, and other funders, celebrated the opening of two new housing developments titled the "The Salem Schools Project". The housing developments were converted from the former St. Mary's School and St. James parochial school. They are a mix of studio and one bedroom, and two bedroom apartments priced at 30%, 60%, and 80% of the area median income. There is also gallery space, micro studios, and sound studios for artists to rent.
