Jerome Curley (Dec. 15, 1948-Dec. 1, 2024) was a local author with books about Salem's history, especially through postcards. Some of his books were co-authored by Nelson Dionne.
Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Edmund and Eileen (Koen) Curley. He was raised and educated in Swampscott and was a graduate of Swampscott High School. Jerome continued his education receiving his bachelor’s degree from Boston University and his Master of Theology from St. John’s Seminary in Boston. Curley embarked on a long and successful career in social services, beginning as a Social Worker and later serving as Supervisor and Area Director with the Department of Children and Family Services for many years until the time of his retirement.
