Born in Salem, "Pep" Cornacchio was an excellent athlete and played football, basketball and track. Known for his friendly demeanor and affable nature, he was on numerou sporting volunteer boards. He espoused team play and instilled discipline in young athletes. He has received numerous awards over the ears, including the prestigious city of Salem's Lifetime Service Award. Pep Cornacchio Square is dedicated in his name, paying homage to him near his revered Bertram Field.
