The bark, the La Grange sailed for the California Gold rush in March 1849.
A long article was published about the voyage and its aftermath in Essex Institute Historical Collections, Vol. 115, April 1979.
The article is on pages 73-122.
Some of the crew kept detailed journals of the journey with drawings as well.
