Leonard Ives (Sept. 6, 1898 - Jan. 27, 1988) and his wife founded Ives Greenhouses, which her ran
for 44 years before he retired in 1982. He served two years as president of the Massachusetts Flower Growers
Association. He served as chairman of the board of the Salem Cemetery Commission for 30 years, including
during the years of World War II.
The Greenhouses were located at 256 Lafayette Street.
