A Passage to India is an Indian restaurant in the old Salem News building on Washington Street. It opened

in November of 2003. It was the first Indian restaurant in Salem in many years and one of the few in the area.

The restaurant is a curious business partnership among two Indian brothers, Balvinder and Narinder Singh, an Indian

brother-in-law and a Scotsman, Hugh Kerr.

A Passage to India offers traditional northern Indian food.
