Bride Wars movie, starring Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway, was shot on location in Salem in May (19-21) of 2008. Some of the locations were East India Marine Hall in the Peabody Essex Museum, and the Essex Street Pedestrian Mall.
Nearly one hundred local people were picked to play extras. Candice Bergen played a high-powered wedding planner in the movie. Filmmakers from 20th Century Fox were lured to film in Massachusetts due to recent tax credits offered to film companies.
