Ida Upton Paine, (May 22, 1860 - Jan. 15, 1936) was a well-known artist, specifically of china painting, born and raised in Salem. The daughter of Henry O. Upton and Elizabeth (Cate) Upton, she married Frank Paine, also an artist. She lived in Salem most of her life.
One of Ida's first business ideas was offering souvenir witches painted on beach pebbles. She also designed Salem "witch" plates and cups and saucers which were sold at the House of the Seven Gables.
She also taught painting in Salem and Boston.
She was also active in Salem Young Women's association and the Salem Fraternity.
