North Salem Books was a small bookstore run by Bill Corbett, Jr. at 243 North Street in Salem.
The store started when Corbett remodeled the garage beside the house where his parents, Bill and Marcella Corbett lived.
He stocked the shelves with used books, then opened for business. Corbett, who works full-time as a printer, ran the bookstore part-time.
He opened it Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
It was active for a short time starting in about 1987.
