The streets in Salem are named for various personages. Some Presidential connections are:
- Cleveland Road is named for president Grover Cleveland
- Buchanan Road is named for president James Buchanan
- Hayes Road is named for Rutherford B. Hayes
- Taft Road is named for William Howard Taft.
- Monroe Street is named for James Monroe
- Jefferson Ave. is named for Thomas Jefferson
- McKinley Road is named for William McKinley
- Fillmore Road is named for Millard Fillmore
- Pierce Road is named for Franklin Pierce
- Lincoln Road is named for Abraham Lincoln
- Grant Road is named for Ulysses S. Grant
- Tyler Road is named for James Tyler

- Forrester Street is named for Capt. Simon Forrester, (Salem privateer)
- Boardman Street was named for Capt. Francis Boardman
- Briggs Street was named for ropemaker Thomas Briggs
- Brown Street was named for Major William Browne (1639-1715/16)
- Williams Street was named for Henry Williams, mariner
- Pickman Street was named for Col. Benjamin Pickman
- Oliver Street was named for Henry Kemble Oliver, a statesman was was also a mayor of Salem.
- Webster Street was named for Peter E. Webster, merchant.
- White Street is named for Capt. Joseph White
