Wayne Millner (Jan. 31, 1913 - Nov. 19, 1976) lived at 198 and 196 North Streets, Salem, as a young man.

An outstanding football player, after a great career at Salem High School,where he earned all-star honors. He went on to play for the University of Notre Dame and the Washington Redskins through the 1930's and retired from the Redskins in 1945.

He was known for his clutch play as an offensive and defensive end.
