East India Square Fountain
From Salem Links and Lore
- The Fountain at East India Square is a stone fountain, designed by John Collins, showing the changes in Salem's topography as the waterfront area was dredged and filled. Stepping-stone cobbles represent the changing land masses. It was completed in 1977.
In 1993, the fountain's pump was repaired after the fountain stopped working for about a year. The cost to the city was approximately $15,000.
