Marquis de Lafayette

The Marquis de Lafayette (1757-1834) visited Salem Oct. 29, 1784 and was entertained at the Assembly Hall at 138 Federal St.
He visited Salem again on August 31, 1824 and was accorded a great reception.
He dined at Hamilton Hall with 300 guests and visited Judge Story at 26 Winter Street.
