Higginson Book Company, started and owned by Robert Murphy, is a publisher or reprints of rare and out-of-print genealogies, local histories and Civil War regimentals.

Mr. Murphy started as an antiquarian book dealer and then moved his business to Salem in 1975.

Higginson Books is located in a historical house , the Joshua Ward Housein downtown Salem on Washington Street.
