Salem Public Library - trees and shrubs

There are many attractive trees in the yard and in front of the Salem Public Library. On the far side of the lawn, abutting Monroe Street is a Japanese Cut Maple tree that was planted in May of 1983. It was a gift to Roger Eastman from the library staff on the occasion of his retirement from the Board of Library Trustees. Next to this tree is a Stewartia. Near the front entrance and nearest the sign is a Weeping Cherry Tree. The draping shrub on both sides of the front door and the side with the walkway, is Stephanandra.
