Caroline Howard King (1822-1907) was a writer from Salem.
Her most known work is "When I lived in Salem", a memoir chronicling her life in Salem from 1822-1866 a most interesting time period for
Salem's history. She left for Boston for 30 years but returned to Salem in the mid-1890's.
The book is "When I lived in Salem"
Born on Lynde Street, she grew up in a mansion on Essex Street opposite Barton Square. The book is full of anecdotes and descriptions.
