Broad Street Cemetery is located on Broad Street in Salem and was established in 1655, making it the second oldest in Salem.

It was known as Lawes' Hill Burial Place in the 1700's.

Some of the notable people buried there are: George Corwin, Jonathan Corwin, Capt. John Felt, Jonathan Haraden, Dr. Edward Holyoke,

Col. Timothy Pickering, Caroline Plummer, and Federick Lander. A new wooden sign was erected in 2018 with a list of names and dates of notable person interred there.

The cemetery has a friends group, Friends of Broad Street Cemetery. The group hold work meetings in the summer and hope to map out all plots and headstones and apply for

preservation grants from the city.
