Colonel Samuel Carlton (Aug. 11, 1731- Mar. 28, 1804)

Continental Army officer and member of the Massachusetts General Court. During the Revolution he raised a regiment at Salem in 1777 and marched to Fort Ticonderoga. Served under George Washington at Valley Forge. He is buried at Harmony Grove cemetery with his wife Eunice (Hunt).
