Millner was an outstanding football player. After a great career at Salem High School,where he earned all-star honors, he went on to play for the University of Notre Dame and the Washington Redskins through the 1930's. He retired from the Redskins in 1945.

Wayne Millner (Jan. 31, 1913 - Nov. 19, 1976) lived at 198 and 196 North Streets, Salem, as a young man.

Millner was an outstanding football player. In 1986, Millner was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
