Margaret Press, a local Salem author is well-known for her books, two mysteries set in Salem and in 1996 she published a non-fiction book about the murder of Martha Brailsford by Thomas Maimoni, called Counterpoint: a murder in Massachusetts Bay. Her previous two fiction books were "Requiem for a postman" and "Elegy of a thief", both set in Salem.
