There are many attractive trees in the yard and in front of the Salem Public Library. On the far side of the lawn, abutting Monroe Street is a Japanese Cut Maple tree that was planted in May of 1983. There are many attractive trees in the yard and in front of the Salem Public Library. On the far side of the lawn, abutting Monroe Street is a Japanese Cut Maple tree that was planted in May of 1983. It was a gift to Roger Eastman from the library staff on the occasion of his retirement from the Board of Library Trustees.
