Seamans, Beverly Benson
Beverly Benson Seamans (October 31, 1928 - October 22, 2012)
She was great niece of American Impressionist painter and printmaker Frank W. Benson, who lived in Salem.
Beverly sculpted wax and made bronze sculptures. Many of her pieces are installed on the North Shore.
She attended the school of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. She and her husband, Donald C. Seamans, were married in 1950, first settling in Brunswick, ME and then in Marblehead, where she lived and created art until the time of her death.
Some of her favorite subjects were shorebirds, animals and children.
One of her sculptures is in front of the Salem Hospital. It was created in 1974. It was her first commission.
