Jesse L. Bridgman (1857-1931) was a talented visual artist, also a great educator while living in Salem. He taught through his

illustrations, wrote and illustrated educational children's books, and served on Salem's school board.

"He produced drawings of the original Pioneer Village, but did not sign them", according to John Goff in his Gazette article.
