1866 - May 14th The Lynde Block (139-153 Essex St.) According to Osgood, "The last great fire occurred on May 14, 1866, when the Lynde Block on Essex Street and eight of 9 other buildings were destroyed worth about $70,000."

1934 - Crombie Street Church Fire

Dec. 30, 1962 - Owen Shoe Factory, North and Franklin Streets

Feb. 19, 1982 - Powers Block, Washington St.

Feb. 22, 1982 - Masonic Temple Bldg. and Salem Armory

Feb. 3, 1982 - Ste. Anne's Church

May 10, 1984 - Henry Leather Company, Peabody (Main St.)

Nov. 16, 1984 - Salem- Beverly Railroad Bridge

Jan. 20, 1999 -- Hazel Street

Jan. 13, 1999 -- 392 Essex St. (5 alarm fire)

May 31, 2020 -- 233 Lafayette St. (40 people displaced)
