Gathering at Salem

Pastor Phil Wyman started the Gathering (church) after moving to Salem from California in 2006.
The church was at one time located in an old bank building, (formally Naumkeag Trust), at 217 Essex Street.
It is an evangelical Christian theology that Wyman espouses, but he seeks to have dialogues with Pagans and Witches.
From the Gathering's website: "We are currently under a cell-church model, meaning that we meet in homes, restaurants, pubs, and small community centers."
Phil Wyman died of a heart attack on Friday May 26, 2023. He was living in Wales at the time, after many years in Salem.
