Mark Levine ran Herman's Shoes for 9 years on the Essex Street Pedestrian mall.
Many downtown clothing stores closed over a 10 year period of time. Daniel Low, L.H. Rodgers,
Cherry and Webb and Jack's all closed during these years.
Every year it became more difficult to make ends meet, especially in the winter months.
He closed the store in the winter of 2000.
