Katherine Howe (1977-) is a descendant of Elizabeth Proctor and Elizabeth Howe, both accused of witchcraft. Howe earned her doctorate in American and New England

Studies at Boston University. "Her best seller The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane has shadows of Salem's 1692 infamy." according to Legendary Locals of Salem.

She wrote a second historical novel called The House of Velvet and Glass. She also hosted the program on National Geographic Channel; Salem: Unmasking the Devil.

The Daughters of Temperance Hobbs, her latest novel about witchcraft for adults, was published in summer 2019.

In 2014 she edited the non-fiction book, The Penguin Book of Witches a primary source reader on the history of witchcraft in England and North America.

In 2021, she co-wrote the #1 New York Times Bestseller, Vanderbilt: The Rise and Fall of an American Dynasty with CNN’s Anderson Cooper.
