Sea Witch Gift Shop

Henry and his wife Sophia (Buczko) Theriault, ran the gift shop the Sea Witch on Derby Street for 27 years.

Henry was especially known for his vast collection of photographs, postcards and information about the Great Salem Fire of 1914.

Theriault, a former bricklayer, was always fascinated by Salem collectibles. Over the years he has amassed 3,000 antique postcards.

Prior to running the shop, his wife Sophie was employed with GTE Sylvania at both their Loring Ave and Boston Street locations.

A lifelong resident of the City of Salem, Sophie was quite proud of her Polish heritage. She was a long time member of St. John the Baptist Polish Church in Salem.

She was sister to Ret. Justice Thaddeus Buczko of Salem.

The couple decided to close the shop in the summer of 1999.

Henry passed away on June 21, 2006.
