From Route 128
Take Exit 39, Lowell Street, Peabody, MA. At the end of the exit ramp, turn East onto Lowell Street (coming from South, this is a right turn; coming from North, this is a left turn).
Follow Lowell Street approximately one mile into Peabody Square past the large monument. Continue straight and Lowell Street becomes Main Street in Peabody.
Travel for approximately 1/2 mile and you will enter Salem, where Main Street becomes Boston Street. Follow Boston Street to the end, where there will be a set of lights and a monument. Take a left at the lights onto Essex Street.
On Essex Street, drive through one set of lights. The library is a red brick building on the left-hand side located at 370 Essex Street.
From Lynn/MA-107
Follow Western Avenue/MA-107N into Salem where Western Avenue becomes Highland Avenue. Continue straight past Salem Hospital and Collins Middle School. Highland Avenue then becomes Essex Street.
On Essex Street drive through one set of lights. The library is a red brick building on the left-hand side located at 370 Essex Street.
From Beverly/MA-1A
Go South on Cabot Street/MA-1A. Follow 1A over the Veterans Memorial Bridge onto Bridge Street/MA-107 in Salem. Continue on Bridge Street and proceed under the overpass. Take your first left onto the RT-114 east ramp. This will bring you onto North Street/MA-114. Take your second right at The Witch House onto Essex Street. The library is located two blocks down on the right-hand side at 370 Essex Street.

Parking
All months except October – Parking on Essex Street is allowed between North/South Pine Streets to Hamilton Street (see green area marked on map below). There is a small section of Essex Street between Monroe Street and Hamilton Street that is resident-only overnight until 9:30AM.
October: Same as non-October months (see above) but only Monday – Friday from 9:00AM until 5:00PM, and weekends from 9:00AM until noon. After 5pm on weekdays and after noon on weekends, vehicles without a resident parking pass for Essex Street may be ticketed and towed. Note that on Sundays the parking restriction will already be active when the library opens at 1:00PM.
