We’re here to serve you, the teen! Our Young Adult (fancy library talk for “teen”) section is literally overflowing with books for grades 6 through 12, and we’ve always got programs going on for teens – check our calendar for upcoming events!

Summer Reading Program
Complete BINGO sheets and be entered to win one of several grand prizes at the end of the summer! Prizes include (1) hosting your own movie or Lego party at the library, (2) a delicious food gift card (Koto Grill, Annie’s Asian Mart, Melt, or Coffee Time Bake Shop), and (3) a fun experience gift card (Cinema Salem, Sandmagination, North Shore Children’s Museum, the Willows Arcade, or the Real Pirates Museum). Sheets will be available in the teen section or children’s room starting June 26.
Open to kids ages 0-18. Runs June 26-August 23, 2026 (winners will be contacted on or around August 27). You may only enter once for each of the three grand prizes listed above. All prizes must be picked up in person. Gift card winners may choose from the available cards when they come to pick up their prize. A big thank you to all the businesses who donated prizes this year!
Teens looking for specific summer reading books can find a selection of options for Salem High School and Essex Tech in the teen section. Don’t see the book you need? Ask a librarian to request it!
