We are also excited to offer automatic renewals of Salem Public Library items. Titles that are eligible for renewal will be automatically renewed on the due date. Please note that titles with waiting lists, items that have reached the maximum number of renewals, and items owned by other libraries will not be automatically renewed. Auto Renewal FAQ
How does this work?
The Evergreen catalog will try to renew Salem Public Library items on your account at 2:00am on the morning they are due. Patrons with email addresses associated with their library accounts will receive an email noting which items were renewed, and which items could not be renewed.

Why didn’t everything renew?
Items that belong to other libraries, titles with waiting lists, long overdue items, and items that have reached the maximum number of renewals are not eligible for auto renewal.

What if I don’t have email?
Please continue to call the library about renewals or check your account online.

What if I don’t want my items renewed?
You can still return items on the due date, but the renewal will be processed automatically.
